NORSE TOMORROW

Showcasing Norwegian Futures

Norse Tomorrow is an event showcasing what is going on within Norwegian speculative fiction. It is organized by CoF: Science Fictionality.

Norwegian SF has rebloomed in recent years, especially within lyricism and short fiction. This local subgenre is especially interesting because of Norway’s unique position as both an advocate for global sustainability and a wealthy welfare state while at the same time being an oil country with a longstanding petroculture. How do creators work with speculative fiction to explore the pressures on Norwegian identity? What is the view from the North on global issues looming?

The goal of the evening is to bring interested people, scholars and creators together for a night of mingling, drinks, discussions and fun!

Organizer

The event is organized by Marta Mboka Tveit, PhD fellow in the CoF: Science Fictionality project.

It is funded by the Science Fictionality project funded by the Research Council of Norway FRIPRO scheme (grant agreement no. 300931).
